About

Pancakes for Parkinson's was founded at the University of Virginia in 2004 as a philanthropic group whose purpose is to fundraise for Parkinson's though the sale of pancakes. Parkinson's disease is a neurodegenerative disorder that affects the neurons in the brain, causing tremors. The Parkinson's Disease Center and Movement Disorders Clinic at Baylor College of Medicine was founded in 1977 by Joseph Jankovic, M.D. This center works towards finding the cause and cure for neurodegenerative and movement disorders. The clinic averages at 12,000 patient visits per year and has been recognized as the Center of Excellence by the Parkinson's Foundation, Tourette Association of American, and the Huntington's Disease Society of America. We will be hosting multiple pancake fundraisers at the University of Houston throughout the year in support of Parkinson's research and awareness.
